September 18 is a celebration typical from Chile, when is commemorated the independence of the Country. Even though this is not the real independence's day, because the proclamation was on February 12, on September 18 was the first govenrment meeting. This is the reason because all the chileans celebrate with no boundaries, eating and drinking until the stomach allows it.
On this holidays, people are used to be joined with their families to enjoy the typical foods, music, customs and games of the country. The food is very important, it is reflected in the data: the chileans increase their weight on the order of 4 and 5 kilograms on the national holidays, because we are all day long eating and drinking. some typical foods and drinks are the barbecue, empanadas, cazuela, choripan, conger chowder, chicha, wine, piscola, etc. In the area of the music, the most important is the Cueca, that represents the typical dance of Chile. The games are important too, the most common is fly kites. The weather help to this because on September is very windy.
The chilean flags and other decorative elements related with the celebration everywhere you go.
