Christmas Time (Don't let the bells end)

I love "The Darkness" and I think that the song and the video are very funny. Christmas n' Roll =)

My Christmas

Last Saturday night I celebrate Christmas night in my house in Los Andes with my parents, my brother, my sister, my aunt and my cousins. My parents and my grandparents are Catholics so they went to the church meanwhile my sister and me; we were fixing the last details of the dinner. We decorate the table with flowers and candles, it was very beautiful. My grandmother cooked the dinner; she is such a professional in the kitchen. She prepares beef, turkey and many delicious salads and for dessert an appetizing berries bavaroise. On the table we share some experiences with the family, because we don’t get together often, especially with my cousin and my grandparents who don’t live in Los Andes. After the dinner I took my little cousin and we went to looking for Santa and when we return to the house, the Christmas tree was empty of presents. Meanwhile the kids were open their presents, the rest of the family were drinking champagne, wine except me and my sister that we drank beer. After the family celebration I went to my best friend house, and there we meet with other friends and we share a good time together.

One on one with Al Pacino

Al Pacino is one of the greatest actors in the history. His real name is Alfred James Pacino; he was born on April 25, of 1940 in the city of New York, United States. Today he is 71 years old and is dedicated to the direction, screenwriter and to produce films. He started smoking at age nine, and began drinking and smoking marijuana at age 13, but never took hard drugs. Pacino left the school and his house when he was so young, then he started to job to save money for finance his acting studies. Alfred successfully auditioned for the Actors Studio, an important organization for professional actors, theatre directors and playwrights in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. In his career, he had has performed many times the mobster character, having a big success, bringing the fame and recognition to him.

I think that Al Pacino is the best actor of the world; his movies are a classic film that nobody has to die without watch them. His talent is so clear to see, everyone just have to look his participation in “The Godfather” or in Scent of Woman and will be fall at his feet.

If I had the opportunity I would ask him “what does it feels to embody one of the most famous mobster characters of the world?”, “what of all the characters  that you have interpreted, is your favorite?” “How does it feel to embody a blind man?”

A song from the past

I always remember when I was child, every weekend my dad put out loud music when he and my mom were cleaning the house. I guess he is the fan number one of the band “The Police”, and it was what I heard every weekend. “Wrapped around your finger” is the name of the song that I usually sang with my dad, and we used to take some brooms and we play them like a guitar. I think that then I had six or seven years old and while we were singing, my mother was taking some pictures. It reminds me good times, because at these days I had no more worries than eat and smile, and everything else was concern of my parents.
Today The Police is one of my favorite bands, even though they have separated. I think that good music should not be forgotten. Now that I’m bigger I can understand what I was singing when I was child, because then I just said things in a strange language (My own strange English). Now I’m still listening to the song and I love the music video where Sting is singing and jumping between hundreds of burning candles.

My favourite Outdoor Activity

When I was a child my family used to plan some outdoor activities, like ride on bike, picnic, play volley, etc.  But my favorite one still is climb a hill near to my house, in Los Andes.  I like it because is a good opportunity to share with my brother, my sister, sometimes my dad and my dogs (they love it). Also because I love the nature and climbing I can see a lot of vegetation and some rabbits that appear on my way.  When we started to do it when we were a kids, around 6-7 years old, and we like it because we felt like Indiana Jones or something similar.  Now we do it once in a month, because we all have to do other things that spend time, overall me, because I just travel to my house on weekends, but my sister practice it everyday. Before leave the house we prepare our bags with some food and water.  It is so funny because all the people look at us because we look so ridiculous with a poodle dog each one.

Sand and Sun ... Beach!

I think that nobody could say that hate the beach. In my case, I love it. Nothing compares to the pleasure of being doing nothing, when all you have to worry about is to put yourself sun tan lotion. This is why I love to remember my travel to Bahía Inglesa, it was on March of this year. It is ocated in the third region of Atacama, a distance of about 700 kilometres from Santiago, around 12 hours by bus. Really the objective of my trip wasn't go to Bahía, I went to visit my boyfriend that is working in Copiapó. We took the car and we went to the beach.
I think that is the most beautiful beach of the country, white sand, turquoise and warm water, no big waves, few people... really amazing. Usually I don't like to swim in the beach, but the water called me to get in. We had lunch at a restaurant in Caldera, a beach located next to Bahía Inglesa, and we ate delicious products of the sea.
The trip was a great experience, is very nice to know beautiful places, specially when these places are relatively close to Santiago.

Differences between men and women

Women and men are different, but I think that no one is better than other, but they just have different qualities and skills that make some differences in the way to do some things.
Men, in my opinion, are more objectives in the way to face the life. I think that is the reason why they are more successful in fields like science and engineering.  They don’t think about other distracters and have the skill to separate one thing from another (like the job from the family). However, in this times, more men are successful in fields that we were used to see women, especially in the social and humanist area, where is necessary be a little more sensitive.
On the other side, women are more perceptive and emotional. We don’t have the skill to separate the things in our lives. We are always worried about something related whit our personal life and it have repercussions on our labor or student life.  Is necessary say that some women manage this theme in a better way than other ones. I think that the famous phrase “I think, then I exist” is very applicable for women, because we are always thinking about all the consequences and all the people before do something.

Important Holidays in Chile: September 18

September 18 is a celebration typical from Chile, when is commemorated the independence of the Country. Even though this is not the real independence's day, because the proclamation was on February 12, on September 18 was the first govenrment meeting. This is the reason because all the chileans celebrate with no boundaries, eating and drinking until the stomach allows it.

On this holidays, people are used to be joined with their families to enjoy the typical foods, music, customs and games of the country. The food is very important, it is reflected in the data: the chileans increase their weight on the order of 4 and 5 kilograms on the national holidays, because we are all day long eating and drinking. some typical foods and drinks are the barbecue, empanadas, cazuela, choripan, conger chowder, chicha, wine, piscola, etc. In the area of the music, the most important is the Cueca, that represents the typical dance of Chile. The games are important too, the most common is fly kites. The weather help to this because on September is very windy.
The chilean flags and other decorative elements related with the celebration everywhere you go.

Earthquake experience

On February 27th I was sleeping so peaceful in my house, when suddenly began to move the floor under my bed. I remember that I heard some screams of my mother telling (screaming hysterical) to everybody that it was a big earthquake and that we must get up, but I didn't believe her, because she always get so crazy when there is a little earthquake that scares to nobody. But the earthquake began to get more intense and then my sister (that is like my mother) fainted. At these time, a girl of interchange lived at my house, and all that I heard from her was "Oh my God!, Oh my God!". Meanwhile, my dad, my brother and me, we were calm and looking those crazy girls making a funny show. Happily, all my family was safe and nothing happened in my house.
